Editorial policy

This policy describes how material on EnviroStack is produced. It is public so you can judge whether to trust what you read here.

Standards every published page must meet

  1. It answers a specific question a real reader has.
  2. It contains something original — a table, worked calculation, decision tree, checklist or template — not just a restatement of material available elsewhere.
  3. It cites primary or authoritative sources. Every citation is opened and checked before publication. We do not publish a reference we have not read.
  4. It distinguishes fact from assumption, estimate and opinion.
  5. It carries a named author, a publication date and a last-reviewed date.
  6. It is useful without clicking an advertisement.

Sourcing

Regulatory and standards topics cite the issuing body's own published material. Dataset and method topics cite the provider's documentation or the peer-reviewed literature. We do not treat other blogs or content sites as authorities.

We do not reproduce copyrighted text. Where a standard or regulation is discussed, we describe requirements in our own words and point you to the official source; we do not republish clauses.

Use of AI tools

AI tools are used for research assistance, structuring and drafting support. They are not used to publish unreviewed text. Every page is edited, fact-checked and approved by a named human author before it goes live, and the author is accountable for its accuracy. Where an AI tool produced a claim that could not be verified against a real source, the claim is removed rather than softened.

Review and updates

Regulatory, standards and dataset pages are re-checked on a schedule and carry a visible last-reviewed date. Where a page becomes materially out of date and cannot be updated promptly, it is marked or withdrawn rather than left standing.

Independence

Advertising and product sales do not influence editorial decisions. No advertiser, sponsor or affiliate partner reviews content before publication or has any right of approval. See the advertising disclosure.
