Corrections policy
Last reviewed:
Technical writing contains errors. What matters is what happens next.
Reporting an error
Email contact@enviro-stack.com with the page URL and, if you can, what the correct information is and where it comes from. You do not need to be certain — a question is enough to trigger a check.
How it is handled
| Severity | What we do | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Material — changes what a reader would do | Page corrected and a dated correction note added at the foot of the article | Within 5 working days of confirming |
| Minor — typo, broken link, formatting | Fixed silently | As soon as practical |
| Disputed | We say so on the page, set out both positions and their sources | Within 10 working days |
How corrections are recorded
A material correction is never made silently. The page keeps a dated note saying what was wrong and what changed, and the last-reviewed date is updated. We do not quietly rewrite a factual claim and leave the page looking as though it always said that.
If an error was serious enough that readers may have acted on it, the correction note stays permanently.
Withdrawal
Where a page is wrong beyond repair, it is withdrawn and the URL explains why, rather than being deleted without trace.
